Downsampling and Data Reduction
FlowJo has multiple special analysis platforms that provide capabilities beyond the gating and statistics used for most basic data analysis. Some analysis platforms can be applied to multiple samples (usually by applying the analysis to a Group containing multiple samples), others are distinct algorithmic processes that must be performed on each sample and/or gated population individually. All Platform operations are saved with the Workspace for your permanent record.
- Downsample gate: Create a gate which is a subset of events within a specified population, which is useful before invoking computationally intensive calculations such as tSNE.
- t-Distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding (tSNE): a powerful data reduction tool for viewing multi-dimensional data in 2D space.
